Don’t be surprised if during the course of my blog I contradict myself or even change my views, after all, as the title states I am young and impressionable...  This is growth and evolution, sticking with views just for the sake of sticking with views is not my style.

Have you ever heard a Latino refer to another Latino as them?  This is all too common in my world.  Although I have to say this is usually from an individual who no longer considers himself or herself as part of the masses.  They have “made it”…

I hear this in presentations and in conversations, generally to non-Latinos, thirsting to learn about our culture and itching to tap into our massive buying power.  Do I really need to read or hear a Spanish word to buy a product or service?  Is that what the experts in the field of Latino Marketism are prescribing?  Does this say, “let’s dumb it down”, perhaps so that those of “them” who are not here in this conference room can understand.  

Listen, every Latino I know will buy a product based on price, quality and service…. Sound familiar??  Whether the ad starts with “Hola” instead of “Hello” is insignificant,

give us the very same price, quality and service and keep your “Hola”. 

So, don’t give me a “Hola” and a higher rate on my mortgage, or make me wait at the teller window twice as long as the Suburb branch.
